A Clockworks mod advanced restore question

I've checked clockworks mod 3.0.0.5 and saw that its possible to choose which partition i want to restore (on the advanced restore option).

If i restore only the data partition is it the same as restoring the "user apps" of Titanium Backup or not?

Kinda, it restores all your user data, including the data for system apps. Titanium allows you to be more selective. If you restore a data partition from one ROM to another it probably wouldn't work, whereas you could probably restore most stuff with TItanium.
