I’m sure this must have been discussed before but I can’t find the relevant thread so apologies for the following. I have noticed that since installing Google Maps 5.1.0 my San Fran never sleeps (front buttons are still active). Also Google Maps keeps starting itself and I end up with at least 4 instances of it running as shown by Super Task Killer. If I remove Google Maps then the phone is fine. I’m using Jellyfish RLS9. Any ideas?

Had this 'problem' with navigation as I was using home to come out of it instead of Menu--> Exit, so it was still running in the background.

Never had a problem with Maps though - using home normally has the GPS icon disappear within a second or two

There doesn't seem to be an explicit Exit out of Maps but I am never left with the GPS icon (or any other Maps indicator) showing. However Task Killer shows it running (up to 4 copies) or at least Maps starts itself up after a few seconds! Is it possible to install an older version of Maps? If so, where can I find it? I don't think I had this problem with earlier versions.

Are you using Latitude too? I was having a problem with Latitude auto loading constantly.

I'm not using Latitude.

Even after Task Manager kill it starts itself up again.

I have noticed that after uninstalling Maps my San Fran would not go to sleep. I had to reboot (after uninstalling Maps) to get the phone back to its usual sleep functionality. However, if I then reinstall Maps it is back to playing up.
