My new vega arrived this morning and I am trying to upgrade it to 1.09 using the full method but it just will not go into recovery mode using the back and power buttons like in the instructions on advenvega website.

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I've been doing that this morning too and it doesn't actually display anything to show you it has gone into recovery mode (I didn't hear the beep but then I have my speakers turned off) the only way I knew was to keep trying the install to see if it connects. The MoDaCo rom install is easier as you can just set that off and it will wait till it finds the device so you kick that off and try getting into recovery mode and if it works it will automatically start the update.

It can often take a few attempts to get into recovery mode.

I have found unplugging the power supply for a few seconds then plugging it back in before re-trying the button shuffle can help

You want to follow the full instructions and do it exactly usually some people miss something or make the basic mistake of forgetting that two seconds and counting to two are usually very different things.

Also it doesn't like doing it with less than half power in the battery.
