Guest SqueakyG Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) I don't mean prevent data roaming - that's an obvious setting. But can you prevent the phone from roaming altogether? It's annoying that this phone will enter a black spot, lose its signal, then when I get out of the black spot I see that it's decided to roam on another network instead of finding Orange again. And it doesn't change back by itself. I give it plenty of time to get back to Orange by itself, but after half an hour I give up and trawl through the settings manually. Otherwise I'm "roaming" for the rest of the day. This is on all the custom ROMs I've tried, by the way. This is my first Android phone, and all previous cheaper phones would simply lose their signal in black spots, then come back on the same network when leaving the back spot. This is what I want. Guest Lew247 Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Call Orange and ask them to disable Roaming
Guest Swimmerboy Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Easy! Go in to Settings --> Wireless and Network --> Mobile Networks --> Network Operators After a few minutes it'll display all the networks it can see in order of strength. Simply select your network (instead of "select automatically"). From now on your phone will ONLY connect to that network so if you go abroad etc. remember to turn it back or you wont have any service!
