Big thanks to Bazz and the rest of the guys for helping me unlock my phone.

How do I check its worked?

And what should I do with it now?

I'll post an update tomorrow regarding battery life and any other notes I make post unlock.

Wanna see what this baby can do now!

By running any unsigned apps

Try doom for starters and take a look in the software section for

more ideas (like I said in another post to you :) )

Have fun and just play ;)

PS when you post your update can you please post it here.

Sorry for the repeated questions but I tend to forget and then can't find my old topics!

I'll post the update tomorrow. Seems a bit quicker. Maybe I'm looking for good points though.

Sorry to be a pain but where do I find unsigned apps as you call them. Please understand I am very untechnical and need step by step guides!

That's ok

right here's a simple little app to start you off its called NotBad

it's a little note pad application.

Put it on your SD card then create a short cut in

IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories

Like I said have a look around the software section and anything you like the look

of have a go.

If you get any problems let us know.

Cheers

Ashley

Guys,

Don't feel stupid anymore just baffled.

1) Do I type the addresses in Internet Explorer on the smartphone to download new apps?

2) When I try to download something (Notbad) for example via the PC do I save to desktop then drag onto storage card, hit sync on Activesync then it will appear under programs on the SPV?

I don't have All Explorer.

I don't have All Explorer.

1) It's best to download apps to your PC to begin with.

2) Save NotBad to your pc first, anywhere you like, I use My DocumentsSPV

In activsync click on explore this will open a window showing your phone.

you use this window like explorer. copy the file from your computer to the phone, use the location in the instructions above and you will be fine.

Remember we all had to learn at some point, and I'm STILL learning :)

Right I know what your problem is now :)

Your problem is, The file you downloaded is a compressed or zipped file,

note the .zip on the file extension, you need

to extract the file using a program like winzip or winrar. this will then

give you an extracted file. the icon for this file looks like a lined piece

of paper with a capital "A" in the corner. This is the file you need to use.

Now you should have it working ;)

But he posted the url with an *.exe file, so it must be either a self-extracting for the pc or a run file for the smartphone.

Nah he pm'ed me and said the file extension was .zip

he was trying out the NotBad app to begin with.

I posted here so other new members might benefit

from this info.

Hi everyone.

Don't think I am unlocked. I did everything right now and was all chuffed but get a message saying

"The program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate."

B*#locks!

Damn... really heard of all the swiss users that a hard-reset will do (and in fact it did it for me).

Perhaps you should try it again (hardreset->left->erase ipsm - you haven't much data to lose now, have you?) or if this doesn't work try the uk-version mentioned in another tread.
