Phont shut off, screen blinking

I haven`t dropped my phone or anything. I was just playing some scrabble with my friend, battery was completely low but I had it plugged in. All of a sudden it powers off and I go to grab my other charger (I assume there is something wrong with my wall charger, I normally charge it using my laptop anyway) Once I plug it in my laptop, the screen just starts blinking every 4 seconds or so.

I am just wondering if anyone has heard of this before, and some possible suggestions for what I should do.

Just let it charge in the charger for about an hour before trying to turn it on.

Yupe, that always happens even to an iPhone.
