Guest cacoe Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I'm trying to install clockwork on my brothers handset and I'm following the exact same instructions as seen here which I used on my own phone: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-the-zte-blade/ I had no problems with this on my handset, it all went well the first time around but his handset seems to loose root privileges every time it gets rebooted, therefore it doesn't seem to want to boot into clockwork, it just sticks on the green alien logo instead. I've come to this conclusion as well because if I want to load recovery manager on his handset, I have to re-root the device, otherwise recovery manager simply crashes. What can I do to remedy this loss of root privileges on a restart?
Guest targetbsp Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Androot won't keep the phone rooted after a reboot on the stock rom. But the custom roms are pretty much all rooted and you shouldn't need androot if you've put one on? If you're trying to put one on atm, just use androot again (ignoring the fact it thinks you're already rooted)

Had similar problems with my new San Francisco, the rooting would work but when anything tried to get su permissions the su would force close and a reboot lost root access. I solved it by flashing clockwork using the Fastboot method then flashed a decent rom.
