Guest isambard Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) OK. It's been several months since I wrote this, but I finally got around to putting nicer UI on this so decided to learn how to publish apps and registered on Google marketplace. This app automatically pulls your phone IMEI and calculates the unlock code. It also acts as a generator allowing you to calculate codes for different IMEIs. It also has a re-lock feature. I guess one advantage of being on the Marketplace is that you can download it straight from the phone and calculate without having to mess around with APKs. You can download it for free here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.d...e=search_result If you want to make a donation, you can buy a 'Pro' version here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.d...e=search_result Thanks for looking :D Edited February 18, 2011 by isambard
Guest fonix232 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 You do know that phone unlock is illegal in many country, including the U.S.(so it's only a matter of time when your app gets kicked from the Market), don't you?

No, I wasn't aware that it is illegal to unlock a phone anywhere in the world. Do you have any references to the laws or is this just speculation? Also, I've unlocked my phone and many on this website have also done so, I would like to think that we are not all criminals... Edited February 19, 2011 by isambard

Guest 90180360 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 It also has a re-lock feature. Ok, that's quite nice, because otherwise I can't really see the use to be honest. It will automatically re-lock to the original operator?
Guest 90180360 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I just tried re-locking my phone, but it definitely didn't work.
Guest madflier Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I just tried re-locking my phone, but it definitely didn't work. Are you using a rom that respects sim locking though (like the factory rom) or are you using a custom rom (many of which don't check to see if the phone should be locked, but will just work).

Good point. I'm using JJ, so I'd have to flash a stock ROM to really find out.
Guest HMZX Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 well, since no has said thanks yet, THANKS!!
