Guest ghenton Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Hi; Tried to root my Acer Liquid e, using the Superboot on this forum, I missed something as the phone is near death. It boots to a splash screen of androids and then a blank screen. home/menu/back/search keys will light up. but that is it. I can boot into a recover mode? with the V- Camera Power button boot, I get an android with a exclamation mark in a triangle. adb AND fastboot do not connect. Acer Download tool will and does attempt to reflash device but hangs. It does show that it is connected and when I try to image the phone it does verify and backup but when it switches from os mode to download mode it does a file verify and then the phone shuts down. Any idea's on what next or am I out $600 and a phone? Gerry ps I am using windows 7/64 will try and find a XP version to use, and I dont think that the phone powers off it may just blank the screen. Guest Thmz159 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Can you try flashing it with Acer Tool 3.1 (check http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-acer-liquid-e/ ) using the latest bin http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...act-collection/ see if you need a GEN1, GEN2 or FET version, I dont know the difference. I think flashing it this way (and not with the official acer tool (3.7 or something) doesn't check those files. The best way to get your phone rooted is just installing Malez Recovery, it's easy. Thanks for replying I have found an old xp system to work on, and it does progress further, it now goes until fastboot fails. (on pc) and (system erase ok on phone). This is all very nice but still no phone. I am using v3.1 of Acer Tool, but still cannot connect with adb or fastboot. I have tried every bin file I can download to see if it will take. I will check out Malez Recovery when it becomes possible to boot and update the phone for real. I am looking for the next great idea to try? Thanks Gerry Edited February 20, 2011 by ghenton
