blade dropping calls on the MoDaCo Custom Rom - r4 (eclair)

My gf's blade keeps dropping calls and I would like to investigate further what could be causing this, where do I start to look? Which logs are most appropriate and I would be grateful for your input what I should look out for.

To describe a bit about the issue, network reception is not degraded and in all cases the caller/called can ring/be called back immediately. The way the call is cut is a 'clean' cut, i.e. the call closes and the gf is returned to the lockscreen.

That rom is So old now - change to one of the 2.2 roms you won't regret it

I might bite the bullet and upgrade it, but the gf likes how its all set up right now, and does not use it for much beyond a phone and gps unit for training. I am interested to know what is causing this issue, and updating does not really address the underlying issue for me.....
