y cant i go on the app shop

hi all. ive unlocked my orange san fran to o2 and i want to install froyo 2.2 on it. so been following the instructions but it says i need to download ROM manager from the market but i cant connect to the app shop. it says " sorry app shop cannot currently connect. if you are using WiFi/ please disable this mode which is not currently supported. if not please re try when in good GSM coerage area. seems a bit stupid i cant go on it with wifi otherwise o2 will charge me to go on the net. how can i go on the app shop using wifi?

In short order what you need to do is.

Get Universal Androot in the Android Market,

Download the Recovery Manager App in the thread I linked and ClockworkMod,

Download the froyo rom of your choice,

Follow the instructions,

Enjoy Froyo
