I finally found what I've wanted for quite a while - a database program which will open long files (like my book collection, cactus collection, etc). It opens with ease documents which caused Documents To Go to run out of memory. It opens CSV files, but it's not a spreadsheet - but I guess many people, like me, use a spreadsheet just to store a list of data without formulae. It's very fast to scroll through the data, and to find items matching a filter.

There's a free read-only version, and a paid ($5) version that in addition lets you edit data, and remembers the files you have opened and the layout you choose.

I've got no connection to this other than as a satisfied customer,. I looked for a program like this for a long time, so thought others might be interested in it.
