Guest cbrpaul Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Well it was a short lived affair , but good in some ways , The blade was really the first smart phone for me , and it did open up a new world for me, but it always seemed to be lacking something , not sure what, whether it was the occasional freezes , the build quality , the first had to be returned due to lack of singal, im not sure, Anyway , i sold it on to buy a Iphone , i know you cant compare the 2 really , and I wont bang on about the iphone, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :D So in a way , it was great owning a blade for a while , it put me where i am today !! The blade is no doubt the best value for money mobile around !!! So have fun my ex blade buddies , LONG LIVE THE BLADE , chow !!
Guest Azurren Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) I guess it's to late to persuade you against getting this iPhone? :D If it's an iPhone 4: Fair enough, but you will probably miss all androids free apps and "awesomeness" If it's an iPhone/3g/3gs: Well we'll see you again in a week or so :D Honestly anything under an iPhone 4 is a step backwards.. And that's without my "Anti-Apple" attitude Edited February 21, 2011 by Azurren

And that's without my "Anti-Apple" attitude Fully agree... I had an iPhone and bought the Blade just as a spare/toy because it was cheap. I haven't used the iPhone since. :D With the stock ROM I guess the iPhone has a slight edge, but with a pimped up Froyo or Gingerbread I'm not sure I'd even swap it for an iPhone 4. Well, I would - then I'd sell it and buy a high end Android phone instead :)
Guest isambard Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 i bought a HTC and was pleased by the fact that it loses a lot of the 'annoyances'. the blade introduced me to the android world and it is a very nice development device.
Guest Lew247 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I played with an iPhone last week for the very first time and all I can say is YUK it's horrible compared to the blade! Admittedly it was the 3gs but it was enough to confirm what I already knew - I'd never ever buy an iphone

Guest simonsays1 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I've used dozens of smartphones in the past and still own a couple of Nokias, but ever since buying my Blade I haven't even switched them on. My Nokia's will soon be going on Ebay. The Blade is a great introduction to Android and a really decent smartphone. I like Apple and think the iPhone 4 is excellent but it really doesn't offer 4 or 5 times the value and fun of the Blade.
Guest aardys Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 so and iphone it what ? six times the price ? is it six time the phone ?????? :D
Guest aequalszero Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I really like the iPhone too - it's a fantastic device that's part of a really strong ecosystem of apps and developers. If you can afford it, then great! (side note: I'm surprised at those who have moved from an iPhone to the Blade! I suspect that's the pull of Android over the actual device). There's no comparison between iPhone and Blade, really - you've got to look to the Desire if you want a fair fight. But what the Blade is, is a highly adaptable handset that contains way more features than its price tag deserves. It's a perfect Android starter phone, and that's exactly how I'll continue to use mine. Good luck!
Guest SqueakyG Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I simply couldn't afford an iPhone 4. I don't use voice calls or texts enough to need a contract, and with my current living conditions I would not like to pay more than £100 for a PAYG phone. That's why the San Francisco was perfect for me! It's a step up from previous phones and I have learned a lot about Android. In fact, if I manage to get myself into a better financial situation, I would consider getting a much better Android phone in the future. I do have an iPod Touch, and it's infuriating because it's brilliant but it's not a phone. It's a wonderful device, and it does nearly everything smoother and more attractively than Android apps. Safari is a better web browser than all the Android browsers I have tried. The app store is so much more professional than the Android market. Calendar, contacts, everything is just better than Android. Sorry. I would LOVE an iPhone 4. I would LOVE my iPod to be a phone as well, then I wouldn't have to carry two devices around with me. But I'll never afford the iPhone 4. :D
Guest Carlos Abel Chavez Slim Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 iPhone 4 > Blade I'm waiting on the Samsung Galaxy S2. It will be the best in the world at what it does.
Guest relentlessforce Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 If the iphone wasn't better than the blade then my faith in capitalism would be shaken. I quite like the iphone but so many morons have them that I feel like using the iphone is like wearing a dunce hat. I was embarrassed to get it out on the train. I got rid because I wasn't using it's features, ironically I am now using similar features on my Blade because it's just....easier.... I don't even see it as value for money. I see it as a genuinely decent purchase. Why would I want something more powerful? So I can play games I was playing 15 years ago on my Gameboy again?

Guest Mr E Mann Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 How can you tell when someone has an iPhone...? ... they tell you :D I have an iPhone 4 (work phone) and a Blade (personal phone)... they both have benefits and drawbacks Got the blade to tide me over while waiting for the contract on my old e71 to end... and glad I made the switch Will I go for an iPhone when the contract ends? Nope... would rather a decent Android beasty and use the saved drinking vouchers for something nice each month :D
Guest JimJam707 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Bad move bro. You could always give me your blade though :D
Guest Azurren Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I think that actually maybe the downfall of the iPhone. It used to be the "coolest" thing ever to be playing doodle jump on an iPhone (And People bought it for status, not that they needed it) But now everytime someone gets out an iPhone everyones like "Apple fanboy", "Dumbass" or "Ha you got scammed" Face it, the "cool" factor has turned :D I don't think apple can do anything about that
Guest KopCity Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 blackberry r best phones...one reason is IT AINT TOUSCREEN,so it wont b a pain in ass when it comes to typing
Guest cacoe Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) I used to have the original iphone and although it served it's purpose well, I had to sell it due to hardship. Come a yearish later and I can't believe how good the blade is, and at the for only £100! It feels smoother than my friends 3gs and the screen quality is close to that of the retina display on the iphone 4. Obviously, it's hardly the most powerful smart phone but it's damn good for the price. Pay several hundred more for another phone and you'll almost definitely get a better handset. Guest r6ian Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I sold my iphone to get a blade :D :D
Guest aser28 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I sold my iphone to get a blade  :) i sold my samsung galaxy to buy blade. Galaxy's build quality was AWFULLL,
Guest madflier Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I also have an iphone (3GS) and bought the blade to play with, to see what android was like. I agree with all the previous comments; that the apple products are a bit smoother and more polished consumer devices. But I lived tinkering with the blade so much, I haven't used my iphone in a couple of months. I went back to it yesterday. And you know what? The screen! I can't stand the crappy resolution on the iphone, more that I'm used to 800*480. So the iphone's off to ebay - only the iphone 4 would tempt me now...
Guest trentbg Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 sold my samsung galaxy to buy blade. Galaxy's build quality was AWFULLL, I sold my soul for the Blade :-) Seriously though, for the price there is no competition.
