Guest timeslip1974 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I recommend everyone try out FPse for all your Playstation emulator needs, so much faster than fPSXe (its actually usable!!) sounds a little wonky at the mo but its an early release so far and there should be a no sound option in a later version to greatly increase speed on some of the more sluggish titles
Guest Denzo Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Yes I was reading about it, looks pretty good. I heard it's much better than psx4droid. It costs 5 bucks and I'd really like to see it in action on our blades, I saw a video of crash bandicot on LG GT540, which is similar to the blade in terms of specs and it ran pretty well, but how about other games like metal gear solid, ff7, 8,9... also I wondered if anyone managed to get dosbox running and play anything on it. Playing Master of Magic on blade would be a dream come true.

Guest Hurders Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Stuff ive played myself includes Orge Tactics, Persona 2, FF7 and Xenogears - all of which are extremely playable I had a quick try with this last night with FF7 and I'd not really say I could class it as 'extremely playable'! What settings are you running on? and which Rom are you using? I'm using FLB-Froyo-G2 and tried a number of frameskip and framelimiter combinations in the settings but on full screen landscape I couldn't get FF7 to work to any reasonable standard, it ran sluggish and sound and music was all over the shop. In small screen portrait mode it seemed to be just about playable at full speed but again sound and music, whilst almost right, was not quite good enough and this combined with the fact the screen is tiny in portrait mode means its not really playable for me. I'm using FPse 0.10.8. Still hopeful that with updates and maybe once the Cryogen 2.3 Rom is more usable it'll run a bit smoother.
Guest IronDoc Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 In my experience, sound is often bad in emulators, even PC ones. I wouldn't expect crystal clear audio.
Guest Cyburner Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Seems interesting but Im gonna stick with Gameboid (GBA) for my Blade emu gaming. I prefer PSX emulation on PC in my opinion and I have a gamepad as well (not a offical PS1 pad though)

Guest galorin Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 theres been a major update released today, with a far faster core engine and the ability to turn off the sound for a dramatic speed increase FPSE sees an update I swear every 12 hours or so. I have turned off frameskipping completely, and play in portrait mode, good speeds on the games I have tried with an occasional jutter, and that's without overclocking.
Guest 90180360 Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 FPSE sees an update I swear every 12 hours or so. Not only that, also the devs are listening! Even at this early stage this emulator beats the crap out of psx4droid (v2), highly recommended!! (Market link)
Guest 90180360 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 They just released version 0.10.11, which fixes frameskip. Just set frameskip to up to 50 and disable framelimiter. Amazing results (JJ9, 710MHZ, AHB overclock)

Guest Blues003 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Could someone please post a vid on youtube so I could check the performance? I'd love to buy this app but would only like to spend the money if it is indeed worth it.

Guest IronDoc Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Anyone tried it on CM? I'd be interested to know the results given how much better Angry Birds is.
Guest 90180360 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Anyone tried it on CM? I'd be interested to know the results given how much better Angry Birds is. It runs just as good on 2.2 ROMs. I actually prefer JJ9 due to AHB overclocking.
Guest Blues003 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Thanks! Could you please show some gameplay as well? And/Or other games? BTW, what ROM are you using? And what's your CPU's clock?
Guest 90180360 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Thanks! Could you please show some gameplay as well? And/Or other games? The intro runs on the game engine, so I don't think it's necessary to show gameplay. It's totally fluid. I'll try to do some other games. BTW, what ROM are you using? And what's your CPU's clock? JJ9 at 691MHZ with AHB overclocking. FPse settings: - Boost mode (+30% frames) - Spu Sync (slower, but needed for MGS) - Frameskip up to 50fps, no framelimiter

Guest 90180360 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Awesome O_O Wait until you see Wipeout 2097!
Guest Blues003 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Wait until you see Wipeout 2097! What I'm really curious is about Final Fantasy 7/8/9 and Final Fantasy Tactics.
Guest tabor56 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) Would this work on a non overclocked phone? thanks Edited March 1, 2011 by tabor56
Guest 90180360 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) Sound effects are there, but unfortunately not the music. Not sure if my ROM or the emulator is to blame. The real experience  Edited March 2, 2011 by 90180360
