Apps don't connect with 3G, connect with wifi

I've tried google, but I seem to be having the opposite problem as everyone else. Most people are having difficulty with their apps connecting over wifi, but are able to connect over 3G.

I cannot connect to the internet through apps with 3G, but I can easily connect with wifi. Google translate, Google Goggles, Market Place, you name it. The only app that will connect to both is the native browser app on the Liquid E.

I've been having this problem since I got the phone. I have upgraded to Froyo thinking it might help, but it didn't. I'm running it in Alberta Canada, unlocked onto Telus which doesn't have a true 3G network as I hear it. I'm not sure if that matters, as I am still able to use the browser to send and receive data.

So if anyone knows how to fix it, or knows where I can find the fix, I'd be thankful.
