Guest skymera Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) What is this? Been playing around with some scripts for my personal use to save me some time flashing nightlies. While I was at it I decided to make another script that would allow me to choose ANY CyanogenMod supported device AND have the option to choose the nightly or have it automatically download the latest nightly. But, why? But what is this good for? Well, saves you going to TeamDouche  Seriously, my friend has set it up as a Cron job so automatically runs for him and gets latest nightly for him. I made it for fun and just decided to share, someone may like it. It works pretty well although very basic! The code doesn't look much but took me a long time :) Anything for the future? Well it can now remove some apps from the /system/app folder. You can easily edit to match your tastes. Some notes.. Please bear in mind this is my first ever attempt at anything like this, so it's very rudimentary and far from the best practice. Well enjoy! Thanks to the guise at #villainrom for some help! This is for Linux only and just run from the terminal.CyanogenGeneric.zipCyanogenGeneric2_2.zip Edited February 22, 2011 by skymera
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I am sitting at my laptop trying to work out how to get wake on LAN to turn on the computer that is about 5 metres to my left. It's been almost an hour of fiddling but I cant wait to save all the time i would have to spend to walk over to it...

I didn't make it intentionally to release. I made it for myself. Though, the one for myself does much more such as remove apps and copy my personal fixes then zips backup. Thought I'd share is all. Asshole. Edited February 22, 2011 by skymera

Guest ThrashMan Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 humm why do you do a cd ~/Desktop/ ???? Good question.....CD to SDCard/CMupdate or similar would better and really ought to check for free space first too? (Aswell as check if wifi is on and connected?) Sorry, just observing  Good idea for a script tho.
Guest skymera Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) humm why do you do a cd ~/Desktop/ ???? Downloads the files to the desktop. It's where I wanted them  Also I made some changes and uploaded newer version. Allows you to remove some junk apps too. Yeah but on Linux the SD card can be mounted under any dir (/media/<random number> /mnt/usb) etc It was easier to do everything on the desktop xD Edited February 22, 2011 by skymera
