Lost Android Market app after upgrading to R12

I upgraded my Orange San Francisco from stock orange android 2.1 to R12 Modaco following Steven Harpers guide. No real problem other than having to wipe out data and cache manually, for the phone to boot correctly but after the upgrade I have lost Android Market app. FOund somewhere on the web a link and downloaded and installed it but it will not work giving 'force close' error message. Any suggestions for solution?

I had this problem before I didn't even need to flash with gapps, they should be on there by default, I just reflashed, after a wipe of course.

you mean wipe cache and data before the reflashing? Because Steven Harpers guide talks about wiping cache and data after the flashing?

And was your problem with R12 or another ROM?

Yes, I have the same problem with my R12.

Are you sure this download includes Market app? And have you tested this under R12?
