ok, recently my dad got an ACER liquid and tried to root it, and failed which bricked the phone, he managed to repair it the first time but tried again and this time he cant fix it,

so ive decided to have a go hoping for some help.

first of all just to let you know im not too good with phone language so if anyone could explain it using simple terms much appreciated. anyway regarding the phone

when i press the power button alone, the screen shows the acer logo then comes up saying "warning! this OS cannot be upgraded on 256M liquid.

this phone will boot into recovery mode to upgrade to other OS in 5 seconds.

after that it goes to a screen showing a exclamation point in a triangle with the little android alien, no matter what i press it wont do anything more so the battery has to be removed.

when i press the volume down, camera and power button, the phone vibrates 3 times, quickly flashes the acer symbol then goes straight to the exclamation point screen again.

sometimes however if i press those buttons it goes onto a screen saying

partition checksum

splash1:chksum =8ba9da08 OK

boot:chksum =f8707d85 OK

recovery:chksum =1f60ae53 OK

and finally when i press the volume up, camera and power buttons it does go into fastboot mode and shows this

a flashing white bar along the top

USB FastBoot: V1.10.00

HW version: V0.4

AMSS version: A1-05.01.05

Machine ID: 10090000 v0

Build Date: oct 30 2010, 14.03.37

usb_init

if anyone can tell me any information about this i would be extremely happy as i can't find anything that has the same problem, thanks in advance

Does the acer tool recognize it? If so, try flashing a different .bin

neither the acer tool or any usb recognize it, ive tried on 3 different computers, when it gets plugged in the noise goes off saying its connected but it doesn't show up

EDIT: reinstalled acer tool and it has now recognized it

look here under the point 2.2 for the Liquid with 256 MB RAM, otherwise you're going to have the same screen as before :P

ROM's for Liquid E aren't for Liquid A1 'cause it has just 256 MB of RAM instead of 512 MB RAM like the Liquid E :D

thanks alot ,

now final question, can anyone give a step by step beginners guide to flashing, cos i have no idea how this is done and cant find one i understand anywhere :)
