Are there any 2.2 roms unaffected by the mac address 'bug'

Hello,

Title probably says it all.... I'm hesitant to install the current CM-port beta due to the mac address issue mostly. I've seen there are kludges (some app to set an arbitrary alternate mac IIRC?) but can't quite work out where this bug came from. Is every rom around affected by this? if so do they all have the same hard-coded mac they 'pick up' and is there any value in me trying to break out a hex editor?

Ideally I'm pretty much just after vanilla 2.2 (or above, is the 2.3 AOSP rom usable/affected...?)

Thanks

no. every ROM is affected by this bug cause all ROMs basing on the same CM version.

ok, well if it's the a CM bug and the AOSP 2.3 presumably has no connection to CM at all, that's unaffected perhaps? If so perhaps I'll take a look at that.

Do we have any idea where the mac bug came from? I'm not exactly an experienced dev but I've chewed through a bit of code on and off for the last 20 years... Even just knowing the mac it erroneously gives the devices could be potentially useful info, maybe (though I'm guessing this isn't overly simple if it's not been fixed already!)
