Guest tdroza Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I had the same idea myself today... I've replaced the home, back, menu and wifi icons with those from the hondeycomb sdk (I'm using the other icons - upload, download, usb, debug etc) from Gingerbread that I posted here) What do you think?...

Could you please explain how you arose signing the Apo files? You need to use the debug certain correct?
Guest tdroza Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) Could you please explain how you arose signing the Apo files? You need to use the debug certain correct? No signing required. I just 'adb pull' the framework-res.apk from my Vega, copy my new icons in, then 'adb push' it back to the vega. I'm using Paul's current MCR ROM. Guest tdroza Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 The icons look really nice. Please could you upload the edited files? Thanks  Sure (as ever, do this at your own risk etc etc)... The best way to do this would be to pull your own framework-res.apk from your vega, copy in the new icons, and then push it back. That way you're not taking my whole framework-res from (potentially) a different ROM just for the sake of a few icons. To do that you need to first get your framework-res, so connect up your vega in USB slave mode and then: adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk . Then grab the icons I used from this zip: Then copy the icons from that zip into your framework-res.apk under /res/drawable-mdpi-v4/ Then copy your framwork-res back to your vega adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/ ...and finally reboot. Alternatively, if you want to risk a shortcut you can just grab my framework-res.apk file from here (Note that this has my own boot screen, and other notification bar theme changes taken from Gingerbread)

Guest wobblydoggy Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) my framework - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W137N72J you will have to re-sign into your google accounts btw + will lose your stock bookmarks! Features Honeycomb icons Honeycomb bootscreen (still image taken from sdk, replaces advent logo) Black notifications with blue honeycomb highlight) This was designed on Dan Hollidays rom, it works for me, may not work for you so make sure you back up. If it says not enough space then just push your old framework whilst the device is booting and it will work again  Thanks to tdroza for the help :) also attached my launcher pro hcomb wallpaper which works in both landscape and portait if anybody wants it (applied using wallpaper Chooser) Edited February 24, 2011 by wobblydoggy

We just need to get a modified battery icon now to match the rest of the theme. BTW, I strongly recommend you replace the /res/anim folder with this one: anim.zip It is taken from alphaola's ROM and found on many of the GTab ROMs on XDA. The transitions are awesome and adds an additional bit of flair. Don't forget to launch Spare Parts and try out different settings under "Window animations" and "Transition animations". Here is my current home screen, I think I may need to make it more minimal to suit the Honeycomb style: my framework - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W137N72J This one didn't work for me, just get a black screen after the boot image.

Cheers Sir Gash, but now the xoom dump is available i'm looking at getting honeycomb AOSP on the vega
Guest tdroza Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Thanks, this works great! We just need to get a modified battery icon now to match the rest of the theme. I couldn't find the honeycomb blue battery icons last night when I was doing this, but I've now found them so will copy these over to my Vega tonight when I get home and post them here when done. (For reference they're in framework-res.apk under /res/drawable-xlarge-hdpi (or drawable-xlarge-mdpi) - not sure how I missed them yesterday!).

If you backed up like suggested you can push your old framework back to the vega when it shows the android boot screen (check by doing "adb devices")

Guest BlackCat^ Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 That looks fantastic. Is there anyone with the know-how who can compile this into an update.zip that can be applied with the Software Update menu within settings for those who haven't quite got to grips with ADB? Would be much appreciated and easier for all to install.
Guest Sir Gash Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) I can't see the interface.... only black screen after boots booting and android logo....And usb is not detected, any way to recover it?????? Which framework did you use? I had no problems with the one provided by tdroza, the one uploaded to megaupload by wobblydoggy caused a black screen for me too. Each time I have had a problem with a dodgy framework-res.apk I still had adb access. What happens if you hold the power button for 6 seconds, switch back on then wait for device to boot and when you get the black screen, type in: adb devices Edited February 24, 2011 by Sir Gash

AS always use at your own risk, this works perfect on mine but everyone's is different i suppose My apologies to anyone who has got a black screen this took ALOT of trial and error Edited February 24, 2011 by wobblydoggy
