Guest owenoliver1 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 http://www.droid-life.com/2011/02/22/full-...-now-available/ was just released can anyone port this to the vega?
Guest thedicemaster Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 it's not that easy to "just" do, and some professional devs that get paid to do it are probably already hard at work getting something running on one of the many P10AN01 versions.
Guest El Nino9 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Is the op offering? I'm not being funny or rude, just common sense.if and when somebody has it working it will be posted. So please wait. There are a few of these opening up.how can a forum be kept clean and organised? Not having a go at anybody.
Guest wobblydoggy Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) bit worried about the scaling issues of 1024 x 600 ran in emulator problems so far - scaling on home screen (google search cut off at top) - apps are a bit large in drawer - adding widgets/wallpapers/shortcuts function does not scale properly in this res. ps great fun with the emulator but my god does it run slowly on my laptop for some reason even assigned with 512mb ram :S Edited February 23, 2011 by wobblydoggy
Guest ss23 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Unfortunately its not gonna get ported anytime soon. Thats just the SDK, we need the AOSP before a proper Honeycomb port can be done on the Vega. Also, I think we'll need Nvidia drivers which haven't been released yet. On the plus side though, I'm sure someone will rip the firmware on the Xoom (which comes out on Thursday) and there should be some Tegra drivers on that as well. Fingers crossed!
Guest rferrett Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Indeed. Though all the same the fact that the full SDK, and commercial devices are being released in the next week or so probably signposts that the AOSP won't be lightyears away. An exciting time. Mind oyu I think we would all be wise to get our patience hats on. I for one doubt the OEM will be doing an official port for the Shuttle P10NO1. And whilst there a loads of iterations around I reckon we might have a little bit of a wait. Mind you for me the MR8 has great functionality and the CM7 Rom for Vega is nearly finished.
Guest ss23 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Also, with the SDK and the new devices, hopefully we'll see some more apps developed for tablets. In particular, I can't wait for Nvidia to launch TegraZone! Hopefully the filter in the market won't stop us getting these awesome apps (although I'm sure we'll find a way around that anyway!)
Guest simonta Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Rumour has it that the AOSP will release tomorrow. The Xoom also has a non-secured boot loader so the signs are good. What we are missing though are ROM devs focussed on the Vega. My skills aren't good enough....yet
Guest rferrett Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Conjecture is a wonderful thing. I can't help but think once honeycomb and premium tabblets are out it might encourage a few who can't afford a zoom to look for something cheaper.

Exactly. Looks like we'll be playing the waiting game for now...
Guest stevesilk51 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Won't be a long wait though and well worth it from what we've seen

It works fine if you set the LCD density to 120: It is still bloody slow though!

Guest damuffinman Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 ps great fun with the emulator but my god does it run slowly on my laptop for some reason even assigned with 512mb ram :S Just a point about the emulator, doesn't matter if you have a state of the art computer, it still runs bloody slow!
Guest owenoliver1 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 as the xoom is based on the tegra 2 can we port the rom over
Guest ss23 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Naturally, there's been a system dump of the Xoom. For all those who are interested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965251
