Guest Dan-in-Japan Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 After much frustration and searching for prepaid sim cards in Japan, I stumbled on one company here named b-mobile. They sell pre-paid sim cards of different flavors, some for data-only, others for voice/sms/data, some in standard sim-card size, others in micro-sim card size. Apparently they sell the sim cards at Yodobashi Camera and at BIC camera, as well as online. b-mobile is an MVNO in Japan using the DoCoMo FOMA network. Caveats are that data is limited to 300kbps or "best effort", Port 25 is blocked, no MMS gateway support. Has anybody used their service? Does it work? Why is the English website only about their 3G modem? I used Google translate on their Japanese website and they offer prepaid sim cards, 3G modems, and 3G-wi-fi hotspots. http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/3g.html http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/
