Guest eezy1 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) Tried posting a similar thread yesterday but it was locked pretty quick. Ill try to better explain my issue now. So i bought a blade and had it unlocked to use with my vodafone sim. I have a custom froyo 2.2 on it. Ive added the correct APNS which i found on various threads on here. Now when i try to send an MMS it just stays at the sending/pending stage. I had my friend send me an MMS to see if i could recieve yesterday. I got a text with a link to vodafone/getphoto and a password to access it. After a bit of googling found out if this is the case if you dont have MMS enabled on the phone, contact vodafone CS and they can do it for you. I phoned them and asked to have MMS enabled, they told me because it is a phone model which isnt in their database i would need to take it to a vodafone shop near me and they could do it there. Is this right? Anyone know what they would be doing and if i could possibly do it myself? Thanks Edited February 23, 2011 by eezy1

Guest cmberry20 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) I've seen a lot of APN settings for Vodafone on this forum. While a lot of them seem to work, I can only get MMS to work (+ 3G) with the following: Name: Vodafone UK APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk (for PAYG use: pp.vodafone.co.uk) Proxy: <not set> Port: <Not set> Username: wap Password: wap Server: <not set> MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms MMS proxy: 212.183.137.12 MMS port: 8799 MCC: 234 MNC: 15 Autherntication type: <not set> APN type: * NB: all entries are case sensitive. Its also worth while deleting all other APNs you have. If they are locked (eg. cant delete them) install 'APN Backup & Restore' from the market & this will enable you to delete them (and back them up) Edited February 23, 2011 by cmberry20

I had this problem with my first rom when I wanted to use giffgaff and deleting them all worked
Guest eezy1 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 just dont understand. tried all of the above and still the same. are there any settings on the phone i may need to change?
Guest Lew247 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 They ARE settings on your phone you need to change How about you tell us step by step exactly what you have done starting with the phone in your hand looking at it - tell us exactly what you press and what you type and where - every step that way we can see if your doing something wrong because at the moment we have no idea what your actually doing or where your doing it
Guest cmberry20 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Have you deleted all APNs from the phone & started a new APN with the settings i provided? Do you have APNdroid installed? This will stop MMS from sending. Is 'Data Enabled' ticked in the Mobile Networks menu.
Guest eezy1 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) i read a thread yesterday that had a link fibble gave to apn back up & restore along with a file containing a lot of APN`s. tried that but had the same issue. After that i tried various APN settings with the same results. I delete using APN back up & restore and then create a new APN with whatever settings ive seen or been given by you guys. I always restart the phone after entering new APN settings aswell but still no good. Yes i have data enabled. I have WLAN switched off. Ive got a healthy signal with 3G showing. I dont have APNdroid installed Edited February 23, 2011 by eezy1
Guest Lew247 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Whereabouts are you? You might have someone close that has a similar phone that can take a look and see what bit your doing wrong

Guest cmberry20 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 aaahhhh.............. I got a text with a link to vodafone/getphoto and a password to access it You dont have MMS setup on your Sim/Account Its not the phone settings but Vodafone. Ring them again & lie to them & tell them you have a HTC Desire. They should enable the MMS on their side & send you a text to enable it at your end. You should be ok as the Desire settings are the same as the Blades.

Guest cmberry20 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) I had the same issue years ago when i didnt have a phone with MMS. When I got a phone that could do MMS everytime someone sent me an MMS i kept on getting the message to view it on the Vodafone web site. So I gave them a ring & got MMS activated. Take a look here: http://androidforums.com/htc-hero/7776-mms-vodafone.html Someone else having the exact same issue & post #12 verifies what i think is the problem Edited February 23, 2011 by cmberry20

Guest cmberry20 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Tell them you arent receiving MMS messages, only a link to the Vodafone web site. Tell to make sure your account is setup to receive/send MMS, if you say is should be, TELL THEM TO CHECK.
