Guest herbz100 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Is there a way of deleting a GMail account without doing a factory reset? Ive brought a second hand san francisco phone and it has the buyers gmail account. Its been rooted and want to keep some of the apps and games on there however they are on the SD card. If i do a factory reset it will rid everything i guess? Is there another way around this? Thanks
Guest Lew247 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Go on your computer change your gmail password after doing that click gmail on your phone and it will ask for the new password, simply put the new username/password in No idea if it will work or not but worth a try
Guest wbaw Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 try adding your own gmail account & then removing the old one
Guest cacoe Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 You won't be able to remove the other account, I tried a similar thing and android states that certain apps need that account, then advises to do a factory reset which deletes all those apps anyway.
Guest herbz100 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 would it delete them even if they are loaded on the SD card?
Guest The Soup Thief Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Try this (only possible if you're running cyanogenmod 7) Go into titanium backup and Defrost Market Apps Installer It will ask you to register your gmail account details Give it your new account details Bingo (probably - I haven't actually tried inputting another account as I only use the one, but this is the only time I've seen my phone asking for these again after initial install, so it looks like it will work)
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 The Market is tied to the Account for good reasons - this prevents people from running apps that they have not paid for. It is mode difficult/impossible for that reason. I would just factory reset (IN CLOCKWORK) not on the device.
Guest vermat17 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Wouldn't the easiest way just be to back up all your apps with Titanium except market and g-mail, then do a wipe and restore all your apps?
