Quadrant Scores in Gingergread AND Froyo

Attached below are 2 screenshots I took, the first being from the latest (R9b) build of FLB-Froyo G2 and second from the new Cyanogen 2.3.2 rom that was released on the 16th. Oddly enough, the Quadrant scores seen in these images are 900+, which is interesting as I swear Stagefright is disabled in FLB's rom, due to issues, and in 2.3.3 the issue with Stagefright had been fixed? (2.2.1 and above)

In case you're struggling to read it, the scores are 981 for Froyo and 1013 for Gingerbread. Interesting point to note: The first 2 3D video tests in Gingerbread just showed a black screen, however the framerates were alternating around the levels they usually do in Froyo for those tests.

EDIT: FLB r9 and above does have Stagefright enabled, but I'm still wondering what's going on with CM7...

Discuss!

Sorry, my typo on the first issue. Flibblesan disabled stagefright, hence why the m.youtube.com thing doesn't work. He wouldn't disable the "http thing" on purpose for no reason as that's the feature people actually wanted to work.

There are 4 stagefright options, flibblesan turned 3 of them on & left stagefright-http off, that was a change in r9, previously they were all off. Some gameloft games wont work without stagefright enabled, that was his reason. stagefright-http breaks youtube hq videos in the youtube app, they get a green line & distortion, thats why he left that one disabled. the other stagefright options break video playback of some formats, unless you use an ffmpeg based player. stagefright breaks quadrant too & makes it report falsely high scores, roughly double the real score.

I think stagefright is enabled in cm7, but I've no idea if it's as buggy or not.

Neocore seems to be a better benchmark for 3d performance & it doesn't suffer from stage fright.

Ahh okay, sorry about that, I'm not too up to date on some of the upgrades he puts in his roms. I read somewhere that the issue with buggy stagefright was fixed in 2.2.1 so therefore it'd be okay in 2.3.2 surely?

Well, CM7 is still at an early stage of development for the blade, there are still quite a lot of bugs, it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't work properly. I think stagefright is hardware dependent too, it's supposed to be fast hardware accelerated media decoders, so maybe it just doesn't work properly on this phone. Maybe it'd need ZTE to fix it in a new rom.

If you're on CM7 then try playing some h264 videos off your phone, youtube hq, etc with stagefright enabled & see if it works perfectly or not.

There is no stagefright settings in build.prop :)

Default is on if I'm not mistaken, so yes it is enabled Pelemane.

Odd that the scores are almost identical then. Is there any way of visually determining if the stagefright test is being performed correctly in quadrant?
