Guest spachal Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Hallo, I'm trying to make a screenshots, without using Android SDK, with some app in tablet. I was trying to use three free apps from Market, but all of them make only a black screen files (just small files with no content, black screen). Do you know about some functional application for screensohot taking?

The SDK method is the only way to go for the moment as all screenshot apps use a framebuffer 'hack' which isn't possible on Tegra devices.
Guest Supercharged Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) Another way of doing it is using a screencast on your PC. For instance, I use DroidExplorer. I hook my tablet to my PC, and then DroidExplorers' screencast function allows you to take control of your tablet on your PC. And then just a print screen and you've got your screenshot. I did read somewhere that Google is adding a function into the coming Android versions which makes it a lot easier. I can't seem to find the source though. Edited February 24, 2011 by Supercharged

Hi I've tried using DroidExplorer but can't get it to detect my Vega, although I can open the Transfer Companion so it isn't a USB detection issue in the OS. Doesn't make any difference if I have debugging enabled or not - anyone have any ideas? Cheers Christian

Just found this thread and thanks for the tip on DroidExplorer. Works great. Took a while to work out how to use it properly before I found the screenshot, [little telephone], and screencast, [little android], icons. Screenshot didn't work properly, excellent quality image but seemed to be adding a green or blue hew as the colours were wrong. Screencast worked perfectly, get the screen on the PC, press SHIFT+Prt Sc and then paste the screen capture image into an image editor. If anyone knows of an easier method than this now available, please let me know. Thanks again.
