Guest galorin Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I am a bit fed up with the stock email app, and heard K-9 was good, so I tried it out. Spent two hours trying to get it to connect to Exchange at work, to no avail. Stock email connects just fine. What other email apps are out there that are better than stock? I see a few on the market, but have only tried them out for a short ammount of time, so no real experiences.
Guest simonsays1 Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 I use K9 and the stock email app and they both connect perfectly to my companies Exchange server. You might want to try checking the settings with your companies IT guys. Moxier Mail is another email app I've heard good things about.

Without going to regional, who configureconfigured the thing in th e first place, I am the IT guy. K-9 does not resolve the host name from the long fqdn for the server. When using an internal ip it is unable to establish a connection. I think it is a known issue that needs more work than I am willing to give. I will try moxie mail now.

I use Touchdown by NitroDesk. My company uses Outlook Web Access (OWA) as one of the ways of contacting Exchange. I have in the past found it much easier to connect to Exchange via OWA than direct. It requires less configuration. If your company uses OWA perhaps you should try the 30 day free trial of Touchdown?
