I've got a SanFran, unlocked, with a talkmobile SIM. It works fine for the internet, but MMS doesn't work. I've phoned talkmobile, and visited two Carphone Warehouses (the parent company of talkmobile), and it still won't work. The CW people have suggested that, because it's an Orange phone, it might be incompatible in some way with the talkmobile network.

That's nonsense, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure my APN settings are correct. The next thing I'm going to try is calling talkmobile and checking that MMS is activated for my SIM. But I just thought I'd share and see what people think about the "it could be incompatible because it's an Orange phone" line.

(The first CW also said the warrantee would be broken through unlocking, and scarcely bothered to look at my phone! Very poor.)

it may be the mms useragent is not being identified by TalkMobile's mms server.

which rom are you using?

If I remember correctly, TalkMobile uses Vodafone UK

I'm using the standard ROM.

Interesting about Talkmobile piggybacking on Vodafone, because it was a thread elsewhere on people having problems with MMS on Vodafone that gave me the lead about activating MMS on the account.

Talkmobile is a MVNO that uses Vodafone's network.

ask TalkMobile to send you an MMS

http://mms.talkmobile.co.uk/servlets/mms < if this is not recognising your user agent I would try a different rom, FLB and CM7 allow you to change the User Agent

Thanks everyone, but those are the settings in my phone. That's where I got them from, and that's where the woman in CW got them from.

I'll call them again and try to persuade them to activate MMS.
