I know they dont do OLED anymore but there are 2 different type TFT screens on this phones .

I had both next to each other today and I think Truly looks better than Lead one

LCD TYPE

Glass: TRULY

OR

I think it's been noted that the LEAD version may get a slight blue tint on most ROMs.

I have a LEAD display and they made some changes that didn't make it into the 2.2 kernel source for god knows what reason, so i get slight color errors in the blue spectrum with every rom but the one my device came with...

By the sounds of it I have a LEAD Display too then.

You could take a look at this thread (linked to the post where we start talking about the LEAD problems).

Maybe you can figure something out that would help fixing the problem with (some) LEAD Displays.

had CM7 RC1 and nightly 4 (? i think) and it didn't fix it for me :) it uses the same kernel source as the 2.2 roms, so how could it i guess

Hmm had it on the black Sliders and Powerwidget.

Think I had it on RC1 but now its gone.

hmm, i'll give nightly 8 a shot, but doubt it will help

Mine phone has LEAD tft.

I successfully solved the blue tint problem by flashing Hungarian stock rom through TPT.

nope, same problem.

tried hungarian TPT, didn't work for me. only the stock boot.img that my phone came with fixes it.

I thought I'd bump this thread to the top as I understand that all new SFs sold in the UK are now being supplied with LEAD screens and B10 firmware (I'm not sure if the two automatically go together).

There appears to be very little information out there about whether the new LEAD screens are better or worse than the TRULY ones.

I'm using nightly 12 of CM7 now and the blue tint appears not to be gone, but has decreased.

Try heating it up: eg. charging it with an AC charger or playing some performance-hungry games.

I noticed that the blue tint gets worse the warmer the phone gets, which is kinda weird because with my original boot.img i don't have any color problems regardless of the temperature.

Can you tell me why, in your opinion, the TRULY display looks better?

I'm sure someone said in another thread that the LEAD displays have deeper blacks. However, assuming that's true, the TRULY displays might be superior in other respects.

Also, are the two phones you're comparing using a stock Orange ROM, or a custom ROM?

you are mixing LEAD (tft technology) and OLED (total different technology) :D

in this thread we compare two TFT models

Actually I'm not. I'm aware of the differences between TFT and OLED displays. However, not all TFT displays are the same. Some produce more backlight bleed than others.

Here's the thread I was referring to:
