Guest dibbles Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) Hello Today I have bought an Orange branded San Francisco which I have unlocked, installed clockwork and then upgraded with the Jellyfish RLS9 2.2 OS. All went well with no issues. I installed my Asda Sim and all is well except with the MMS settings and so I can't send or receive MMS message, I also do not get a 3G symbol on the top bar. I have disabled (although this didn't affect it) "Data Enabled" as hopefully that will not cause me to "leak" money when and if it would connect to the web. I use my router and the Wi-Fi at home to connect just fine to the Internet if and when needed. So the Asda issue.... I followed this post exactly... http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1468281 and the only variation that I have tried is with the apn type: mms setting. I have tried to leave it with it being "default" and so I then get a chance to select it after I save it (with a green button denoting its selection) or I set it to apn type: mms and then there wouldn't be a green button. I switch the phone on and off each time I make a change. But I can't get the MMS to work. I do not have it set to only use 2G networks and the network mode is set to Auto GSM/WCDMA Any help please...? PS- When I phoned Asda they sent me an email with these settings to apply.... Setting up WAP & MMS 1. Press the Menu button 2. Tap Settings 3. Tap Wireless Controls 4. Tap Mobile Networks 5. Tap Access Point Names 6. Press the Menu key 7. Tap New APN 8. Tap Name and enter a name e.g. Asda Wap and tap OK 9. Tap APN and enter asdamobiles.co.uk 10. Tap Username and enter wap and tap OK 11. Tap Password and enter wap and tap OK 12. Tap MMSC and enter http://mms.asdamobiles.co.uk/servlets/mms and tap OK 13. Tap MMS Proxy and enter 212.183.137.012 and tap OK 14. Tap MMS Port and enter 8799 and tap OK 15. Tap MCC and enter 234 and tap OK 16. Tap MNC and enter 15 and tap OK 17. Press the Menu key 18. Press Save ensure selected for activation (check box next to settings) but they made no difference. Guest Lew247 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 You don't select the green button for mms you only do it for the internet settings, the phone picks up the mms settings itself once they are correct if you can't get it to work get an app from the market, apn backup and restore Install it and then use it to delete all APN's and then put in the correct settings again, sometimes for some unknown reason they won't work unless you delete all the old ones first

What I did not realise was that all the other APN's, which were not being used, were compromising the APN I needed..! I downloaded the application and backed them up first. Then I deleted all the APN's and entered the Asda one again (I can do it from memory now). Then it worked.....!!!! Thanks ever so much and you can figure from this post how delighted I am and frustrated that I was in not being able to get it to work. Edited February 25, 2011 by dibbles
