Guest Dan Diplo Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Last night I was attempting to enter Clockwork by holding down the Volume Down key when rebooting. However, I accidentally held down the Volume Up key instead. The phone then just appeared to freeze at the green Android logo screen (with the power/back LED solid at red). After this, nothing would work - none of the buttons did anything, the touch-screen didn't respond and even holding down the power button had no effect. In the end I had to remove the battery to get it to reboot (which it did and is now OK). I'm using FLB-Froyo G2 8a custom ROM (rooted, with Clockwork 3.0.0.6). So my questions are: 1. What does this do? Is it a bug or is it entering some mode or state I'm not aware of? I'm just curious. 2. If it happens again, is there any way to reboot without removing the battery?
Guest vermat17 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Pressing up and power enters the phone into bootloader mode, which allows you to flash clockworkmod via fastboot. You can turn it back on via fastboot by writing 'fastboot reboot', if you connect it to your computer. Hope this helps
Guest Dan Diplo Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Thanks, that explains what is happening. Not sure I know how to write 'fastboot reboot' from computer, so I'll just make sure I don't hold down the wrong button in future
