Guest Dubarley Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Hi I have tried to connect my Vega to my TV using the HDMI port but nothing happened. When I use the same connection to connect my laptop to the same TV the TV immediately displays whatever is being displayed on my laptop screen. I have looked in the 'settings' on my Vega but there is no mention of the HDMI feature. Can anyone help please. Best regards Brian

Guest ParanoidSPV Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 also make sure your tv can display 1080p as that is the forced output of the vega...
Guest demonicsilk Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Not to scare you but if it does not work with the cable which worked on your laptop, your htmi port maybe dud. Happened to mine and i got it replaced.

Also the length of the plug can vary Edited February 26, 2011 by m_liddell
Guest IndyUK Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 For me it worked when I set the channel on the TV and then plugged in the cable into my vega. Hey presto!! 42" Android tablet  Hope this helps.
Guest acildikirlettim Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Your cable and / or tablet might be broken :/
Guest omhaigh Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 I found that some HDMI cables with a thick plastic moulding around the plug prevent a prober connection due to the reseased nature of Vega socket. Also the length of the plug can vary This is the most likely culprit. The pin (19) on the HDMI connector that negotiates the picture with your TV is itself recessed, so if you don't get a perfect 'fit' when you insert the HDMI cable to your Vega then there's a good chance that the TV cannot see that your Vega is there.
Guest dragon2611 Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 also make sure your tv can display 1080p as that is the forced output of the vega... I'm not sure if it is I'm pretty sure the TV we have downstairs can't do 1080p as I'm pretty sure it's only a 720p panel on it, although it can accept a 1080i signal and downscale it (PS3 will let you set 1080i or 720p with it) The one in my room says it's receiving a 1080p input but I know it's not actually capable of 1080p resolution is it's only a 19" screen, I guess that also downscales it.
Guest trevor432990 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Dubarley ..... Have you fixed your problem yet? If so do let us know what the solution was so that other people can gain knowledge from your experience

When I plug my Vega into a TV only capable of 720p and it clearly identifies the Vega output as 1080p...and displays it anyway.

My Bedroom one does, but as far as a Know the TV downstairs doesn't accept 1080p, either that or the PS3 just refuses to give 1080p as an option for some other reason.
