Guest Bender Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Followed to the letter orangesanfrancisco.co.uk guide to root and install clockwork recovery onto phone. Done full backup before deciding/reading would be good idea to do titanium backup of apps/user data as well before I start changing ROMS Noticing phone loses root during a power off - have to rerun root from Universal androot everytime is this normal?

As I recall there's a thread that explains how the rooting works, but in lieu of that... yes it needs to be done on each boot.

Ahh thanks - just assumed because there is option to unroot - it dont make sense you have to reroot.....
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 I also had this problem, but only on stock ROM, I had to keep re rooting. Can I assume you are also running stock ROM? I have not had any issues with this on the following ROMS: MCR 2.2 FLB froyo Cyanogen. If you are still running stock, consider upgrading to 2.2
Guest oldfella Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 I had the same problem with the stock ROM, once I flashed a new ROM it was fine
Guest That-Guy Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Yeah go for a custom ROM that is already rooted and you will be fine
