No go area on homescreen

My vega had an area on the homescreen immediately above the stock browser where the icon would regularly disappear. Now after a recovery and reinstall to r8 no icon will sit in this space but immediately goes. :huh:

Have you calibrated the screen? Also try using multitouch visualiser from the market to test your screen.

Yes I'd tried both those and the screen seems fine. It is still there after | had done something that had caused it to stick on the boot screen so I had to reflash reapply the rom and restore my apps. It is as if the restore 'restored ' the problem. I guess a wipe may cure it.

Well it was going slower and slower so I rebooted again and the problem has gone away!
