Does anyone know of a recovery image for the Huawei U8800 IDEOS X5 ?

I'm also interested in this, I've been googling for hours trying to find some custom roms etc for this device, but I haven't found anything. I've gotten so far that I installed z4root which seems to work, but then before installing busybox I wanted to take a backup of the rom. Rom Manager doesn't seem to have the phone listed in the recovery images.

Looks like there's a guide on how to port the CM recovery: http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/10/portin...ery-to-new.html.

Doesn't look that hard, I think I'll try this some day if someone doesn't port it before that :D

I think the worst case scenario is that if my ported recovery rom doesn't work then I can't boot into recovery, but the working android would still boot?
