Maintain home screens across ROM flashes

First, thanks to everyone for your fantastic contributions in making this £99 device so awesome. cant think of £99 better spent.

A quick question:

Is it possible to maintain the home screen setups (i.e. shortcuts, widgets etc.) across ROM flashes? Of course, assuming that you dont wipe before you flash, which isnt always possible.

I use Launcher Pro and it can backup its homescreens or you can back it up in Titanium Backup.

The only part not restored will be Android widgets.

and setting up the widgets usually need the most time when you configure the homescreen. links to the programs are just some clicks...

But I don't think you can restore the widget because they are stored across multiple applications settings.
