My problem is pretty much in the title - I downloaded the R8 modaco rom by paul and my vega wont connect to MyWi 3g connection on my iphone the WPA_SUPPLICANT file fix isnt helping in r8. I really cant afford to pay for the other performance packs as really broke the bank buying the vega - anyone got this working or can tell me where the WPA_SUPPLICANT file should be on the Vega so I can make sure it is installed? Really want to be able to be free of just my house wifi so any help is mucho appreciated.

Guest sendoc Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 I copied the WPA_SUPPLICANT file to \system\bin folder using root explorer. Using R8 modaco rom. I use PDA net on iphone. It is working now with out any security. I haven't tried with wep key on. Hope this helps.

I noticed that the wpa_supplicant file you provided was 255000 bytes compared to my original 188660bytes So happy finally have it how i want it! thank you very much for going the extra mile and putting the wpa file up here. Note to anyone else who has this problem follow the instructions exactly as mentioned in the orginal reply but with this WPA_Supplicant file here! :) :P :D :P :P :huh:
Guest spachal Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 How are you using pdanet? If I run this app on my iPhone (2G) and set up for wifi router mode, it waits for some created ad-hoc network. How are you creating ad-hoc network in tablet? Thanks for info, I tried wpa_supplicant file from this threat and also 'the older one', same result :/ ..

I am new to this so i am probably doing something silly any help woud be appreciated.
