Help - Can't root san francisco and now won't work

Tried universal nandroot 1.6.2 beta which didn't work and then tried 1.6 as per http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-the-zte-blade/ but can't access screen. Padlock won't unlock!

My mistake as 1.6.2 beta did this and thought the same. Ran it and now have root access. Any good programs to backup phone as it stands before removing orange apps?

Ok, well thought it was rooted ok but still get the problem with lock slider on bootup. Have to press power button on / off to get the slider to work. Unrooted and uninstalled app to finally get phone to work though had to set screen timeout as was not set.

After this foray into trying to root I am nervous about trying any more tinkering to be honest unless anyone has a 100% way of doing it?

I'd say that all ways offer 100%, its down to the competence of the user to follow instructions which reduces that figure! :huh:

Very droll :) but there is never 100%. Did follow instructions but as I say there was deffo something not right.
