Anyone noticed that the vega recovery is now in Rom Manager?

came across it last night, tested and it flashed fine and rebooted into recovery fine too.

Not sure if its the latest recovery, if not I will contact Koush and provide him with the newer version.

Just surprised me that I cannot see it being mentioned on here (even with a search!)

@paul your in contact with Koush more than me, do you know if rom manager has your latest recovery (as I don't have access to my vega right now), and if not can you pass him a copy?

It has been there for a while, however, I doubt it is the latest. Also, ROM Manager always reports both installed and latest recovery is 2.5.1.4, even though I have 2.5.1.8 installed

Not had any issues with it though except an old CM7 nandroid backup corrupted (failed MD5 check), no other problems to report after dozens of nandroid backups and restores.

off the top of my head I am sure it said I had 2.5.1.5 installed which would be wrong as I have the .8 installed too.

I would like to get Pauls response on this otherwise I will contact Koush myself and pass him the image for .8 to upload.

The fact its now in rom manager should make it very easy for "noobs" to install and run clockwork mod, especially now the BSOD seems to have been resolved.

How true, and very welcome!

I put the device profile I created for the Vega on github, which was forked into CM as I understand it, which means each time the recovery is rebuilt for ROM manager, the Vega one should also be updated.

At least this is how I understand it *should* work...

Can you clarify this please,me being a noob, does CM for part of the Rom Manager app?

All the instructions I have seen on the forum relate to the method for pushing CM over ADB via windows for me

I have been considering doing it but a bit concerned about the BSOD and having to flash the image and start from scratch again, Currently running the R7 Rom which has been relatively stable

Cheers

Well R8 is the rom that removes the BSOD risk.

If you have R8 to get CWM recovery all you have to do is install rom manager, and click "flash recovery" then confirm you have an advent vega and let the app do the rest.

Thx for that

I am on the 1.06.5 image, is it ok to update to the R8 rom from this or best to flash the current 1.08 or 1.09 image?

Obviously if I reflash the image I will lose setting and apps, although I have a titanium backup, would I be able to restore these?
