Well, that ... I have a problem that has me a tad pissed. The case is the next install "Tab Update_v1.09_pov.exe Tegra ROM." Already had before installing ... USB port set in "HOST", and after this installation, the Advent is in host mode, so now I go to "SLAVE" and does not work "USB SWICH" that in "HOST", not I can put the tablet in "USB debugging" and if I can not change so I can not communicate with the tablet PC, is the dog chasing its tail, if any I may have made a cable, because I am a kinda stuck ... Is there any way to reset the tablet in "SLAVE" without the "USB SWICH? Or put the Tablet in "ROOT" and from the console mode as root to run the "USB SWICH" manually ????. Greetings have if we can together solve this problem that I may not be the only thing that comes to mind ... ecamposeco.

The problem is getting worse and worse, now I can not put the Vega Advent recovery mode, and follow the steps correctly, I've done it several times and all right, but since I installed the rom of POV, not now let me, I follow the step correctly with the second right, and only when backlit screen icon Android goes green and stops again, and is not in recovery mode ... with the issue of drivers no problem because the uninstall with usbview ... and the pc now no longer have them, and you should ask me if they enter into recovery mode, but no ... not that is what happened ... now this works perfectly as like a POV ... but I can not change the rom or anything ... if you can made a cable?? Greetings. ecamposeco

I found it difficult to understand what exactly you are trying to ask/do so here are some questions to help you clarify the status of your device:-

  1. What exactly is your device a Vega or POV?
  2. Where did you get the Tab Update_v1.09_pov from?
  3. Are you sure you have USB Debugging switched on?
  4. Is the USB cable you are using the same one that came with the device?
What type of Desktop PC are you using and what OS?

What does "if you can made a cable??" mean ?

feel them but do not speak English, I took the text and go through the program "Traduka"

Therefore the translation is not quite perfect.

Exactly What is your device to Vega or POV?

POV is like the Advent Vega Tablet .

Where did you get the Tab Update_v1.09_pov from?

Rom is the Tablet Original Point of View.

Are you sure USB Debugging Have you switched on?

If I am I connect in debug mode.

Is the USB cable You are using the Same One That Came with the device?

I am using the original USB cable that brings the tablet.

What type of Desktop PC and are you using What OS?

The operating system is Windows XP.

What does "if you made a cable dog?" mean?

forgiveness

I wanted to say I need help ...

When you connect the Vega to the PC with the USB cable (with USB debugging set) the Windows XP operating system should show something in Device Manager like Android Phone or Nvidia Harmony, do you see this?

I suggest you follow step 8 in this topic to make sure your USB drivers are correct then try and install ROM from this Modaco site. Then come back and advise us how it goes

Not sure I quite understand the question, but I can share my thoughts and experiences.

Both the USB host/slave images and the custom kernel reside within your boot partition.

By default, the custom kernel is in slave mode.

When you flash host mode, you overwrite the slave mode kernel.

Within my knowledge, the host mode kernel provided in the host image is different to that of your original usual kernel.

This means that various linkings including your superuser binary have been messed with, meaning you don't have the ability to flash slave mode back again.

I discovered this the hard way, but despite trying, there's no way to flash the custom kernel back whilst running. (You need superuser permissions in order to flash the kernel back).

Restarting the VEGA will only result in a bootloop due to the messed up linking.

I discovered the best way to avoid any issues whilst still using host mode is to :

> Use host mode when required

> DO NOT REBOOT/SHUTDOWN

> Whenever finished with host mode, BOOT TO RECOVERY

(You can do this using the recovery mode app, this does not required superuser permissions)

- As booting to the recovery partition bypasses the boot partition, you can flash your slave mode kernel from her.

> Once slave kernel has been flash again, reboot

> And you'll be back in the original kernel without having been through the boot partition

Unfortunately, it seems you got to step two of that and rebooted, it sounds like you're trying to boot whilst the host image is in your boot partition.

This will not work as far as I know, you'll have to use NVFlash to recover.

May I suggest that if you've made a backup using clockwork, you patch the NVFlash utility and you'll be able to recover right back to your last backup.

Details of this can be found : http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...-rom-installer/

Good luck, feel free to ask further if you'd like me to expand on anything :)
