Hi!

I'm wondering why the WEB browsing performance is so weak when the webpage contains pictures (many small or a few big)?

This phone is capable to run 2D/3D applications at a considerable speed I would have never thought some pictures on a webpage would make it sweat.

Hungarian link to Galaxy S with Android 2.3 This link says (unfortunately in Hungarian) that the web browsing performance has been significantly increased due to employing hardware acceleration in the web browser.

Is there any possibility to implement this or a similar method to speed up browsing?

What ROM are you using? On CM7 Nightly 11 I haven't found any problems with looking through the gallery - it's all super smooth.

FLB R8 but I'm not talking about picture browsing but browsing web pages with pictures on them :) I'm going to refine the first post it is really a bit ambiguous, sorry.

However the default gallery is now gone - Quickpic is the new favourite. :P

I get text lag trying to type on forums which is annoying. On nightly 11 now seems slightly better but not perfect.

Offtopic, but i just tried QuickPic on JJ.

Frankly, it loads just fast as the stock gallery, but isnt as snappy when switching between pics.

And pinch-to-zoom is horrible, the lag is just too obvious.

I'll stick with the stock gallery, but will keep and eye on QuickPic, some more optimization and i'll jump ship

Op isn't talking about ANY kind of gallery. He's on about browsing webpages in a browser that have images on them. I use mirem browser and see no lag. If I use the built in browser or dolphin then viewing a webpage with largish images it can be a bit hit and miss as to how laggy jerky the page becomes. This is on FLB R10 which is by far the smoothest of the roms at the moment.
