Guest hotshothobo Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 (edited) (woo! First post!) First of all, let me just say, I've been lurking around here forever, I totally love the modding community behind the Blade, made the phone go from a good investment to a fantastic one. Anyway, I saw this fairly recently: http://nexusonehacks.net/nexus-one-hacks/h...xus-oneandroid/ and was wondering if following that guide and installing Ubuntu would be possible? Performance-wise, the phones should be comparable, and I've rooted and am running FLB's r10b rom overclocked to 710. I was thinking of trying it for the blade, my linux skills are null, so I was just planning to follow it step by step, unless anyone has any advice or a good reason why not to? So I'll wait for some feedback, possibly try it out, and return with results? And wahoo for ubuntu! Edited March 2, 2011 by hotshothobo
Guest vareBlade Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Im not sure if it works, but i found this like: http://androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-devel...ntu-on-android/
Guest ufoman Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 I remember pointing out to someone on this very forum that Ubuntu's binaries are built for ARMv7...

Guest hotshothobo Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Im not sure if it works, but i found this like: http://androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-devel...ntu-on-android/ I tried this link, and it didn't quite work, I got as far as trying to boot it (Step 12 in the guide) but it failed at this point. According to the guide it was becasue of the rom not allowing loop devices, as stated above, it could be due to the ARMv6 (he was doing it on the nexus) and practically impossible to change, but on the guide he made it sound like the easiest thing in the world to change roms to one which had support for loop devices. So just for confirmation, I tried in FLB r10b, should CM7 or any other 2.2 rom be able to get Ubuntu going? Or should I keep looking for linux versions that would work on ARMv6?
