Guest agpoli Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I know this is an Android/Google feature, but can't find a clue how to stop/manage it. So, what is this? When you're powering on your new toy for the first time or install any ROM on it, you have to make your way throught the setup wizard. That wizard contains an option: you can backup your data to Google's servers. I usually unchecked it every time I tried a newer custom ROM, because it's not interfering with contacts, calendar or any other sync. But once, I've forgotten it. The next time I installed a custom firmware, the phone automatically started downloading and installing apps from the Market. This is what I would like to stop somehow. Is there any way to reset it? I don't want to change my current mail address that I'm using with my Blade. ps: Sorry for my English, it's not my native language, but I hope You understand what I would like to say.

If you go into Settings --> Privacy there are two options: "Back up my data" and "Automatic Restore" - I'd untick either or both of these depending on your preference. Not sure how to stop if you re-install a ROM in future, but perhaps skipping the account sign-in wizard and making sure these aren't ticked before setting it up manually might be a workaround?
