OK I caved

So I had to go to PC World last night in weston super mud to get a pci-e to molex adapter for my wifes gcard. So whilst there we looked at the Vega and had a play. Also had a look at the galaxy tab which I disliked intensely. So I was playing with the vega and the wife was looking at it too saying how much she liked it. I said well we could get one to replace the laptop with for web surfing etc, said we had some extra cash coming in at the weekend so we could snag one sunday. To which she replies oooh yea good idea but sod sunday grab it now and save us a trip LOL.

I love having a geeky android wife :( so I brought it home, put Pauls rom on it. And then we spent the rest of the evening fighting over it :)

Loving it so far and my co workers are now fairly jealous. Just need to customise it a bit now.

I do have 3 questions though

1. whenever I shut it off it loses the time/date I set. is that right or can it be fixed?

2. I remember reading some time ago about a performance pack paul wrote. is that now built into the modaco rom?

3. the dock bar at the bottom that has icons on it, can I change whats on there?

Otherwise loving it to bits :( for reading my feeds/emails/tweetdeck/web pages its perfect. So glad I didnt spend the extra on a xoom or something else.

1: no that's not right, you might want to try reflashing the rom and if that doesn't work get it replaced.

2: that's a(n optional) part of MCR, yes.

3: no you can't.

but by using a 3rd party launcher like adw launcher or launcher pro you can get rid of that dockbar.

if you really want that dockbar you can also use a widget like "extended controls" to create your own editable dockbar in adw launcher/launcher pro.

I got my Vega 2 days ago and flashed with R8 and I have the same problem with the clock, did you get this fixed?
