Guest bohemian100 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 The default max volume on the vega quite low, is there any way of boosting the volume.
Guest rferrett Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 The Cyanogen 7 beta rom helps with this though it isnt finished yet. Might be worth having a play if you are confident switching between ROMs
Guest bohemian100 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Thanks but after reading ur latest post in the CyanogenROM topic i think i will pass, my vega is keeping me company on my journey tomorrow too.
Guest trevor432990 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 If my memory serves me ... I was told that if you have installed Launcher Pro and hold your finger on an empty part of your Home screen a list of options will come up one of which leads to an extra settings menu and within that you can adjust the default max volume level to be higher than it is currently. On the other hand if my memory is pants then sorry :(

Ha ha! Yeah I think that is one to try at home for the time being. I think I know what I did wrong (indiscriminatly restoring stuff) and I probably should have been more selective about what apps to install! I am pretty sure it was my error rather than a fault of the CM7 beta ROM per se.

Guest the_corvus Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Newbe has fixed it.. will be released with Corvus5 SP1... no eta by now. Corvus.
Guest newbe5 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Newbe has fixed it.. will be released with Corvus5 SP1... no eta by now. Corvus. Not 100% sure this is the same issue. I have fixed the 50% volume issue, so volume does now increase after 50%, but 100% now is the same volume as 50% was before, so you might not find it much louder. I am still working on this, but my hearing is not so good, so you might have to let me know after release! newbe5 Edited May 5, 2011 by newbe5
Guest warriorscot Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Ive been using the CM7 rom for a week or so now as my main ROM with no problems yet. The first offical nightly had its issues but the last two have been pretty excellent only annoyance is the wireless is a little off it works fine but it tempremental if left idle you need to turn it off and on to get it to scan and recconect to a network but not the biggest problem in the world. Honestly a big issue of the volume is hardware, my headphones are plenty loud on the Vega but I have a cheaper pair that are much quieter. And the speakers on the vega are never going to be loud.
Guest newbe5 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Can someone with this volume issue please install this and alter the equaliser and see if this helps you? You may have to restart the Vega after making changes. newbe5 Edited May 5, 2011 by newbe5

Guest newbe5 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 This has no effect for me, is this the Gingerbread DSP Manager? I thought this doesn't work on Froyo ROMs? This is the version taken from CM6.1, which was android 2.2 based, thought it was worth a shot  newbe5

Guest Richard_Arkless Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Unfortunately doesn't work tried the lite version and it force closes on me  I meant the csv files under gen 7 v2r2, trying it now as audio has been a bit low for me EDIT: Just tried havent noticed a change while under cm7, has anyone got an explanation on why dsp manager or volume + doesnt work for me, these are the two apps I have had success with to increase the volume on my blade. Volume + should at least work because of the fact it uses one of gingerbread's api Edited May 5, 2011 by Richard_Arkless

Honestly a big issue of the volume is hardware, my headphones are plenty loud on the Vega but I have a cheaper pair that are much quieter. And the speakers on the vega are never going to be loud. Its an issue on many players and tablets.... The EU's New MP3 Player Policy The European Commission's new policy will require iPods and other MP3 players to have a default maximum volume of 80 decibels. That's considered a "very loud" level by most sound rankings; anything above that mark can be potentially dangerous. Presently, most MP3 players go as loud as 115 to 125 decibels. One thing you can do is check the impedance of your headphones - most are around 16 ohms for each speaker. Try headphones that are 8 or 4 ohm - as posted better quality phones will help. or use powered speakers.
