Guest g-rasshopper Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Hi, I'm about to flash a new ROM onto my SF in order to try and fix some wi-fi problems that I'm having. However, if the problems aren't fixed by the new ROM then I might have to consider returning the phone. So I'm wondering whether there is a means of backing up the entire phone before putting on the new ROM so that I can restore it to its factory state if I decide to return it. Thanks

Thanks 1) All orange San Franciscos have the wifi not reconnecting problem so your isn't any different 2) if you still want to return it you can do a nandroid.this is in the backup and restore section of clockworkmod recovery. It backs up the whole phone.

My dilemma is that I don't really know whether the problem is caused by software, hardware, or whether it's simply that all SFs suffer from weak wi-fi reception. In other threads, I've read that, in some cases, weak reception was caused by the connection to the internal antenna being loose. But I'm not willing to dismantle my phone when I still have the option of returning it. I'm not sure whether the signal strength will be improved by a ROM upgrade but I though it would be worth a shot.
