Problem with the photo gallery

I'm hoping somebody out there can help with a niggle I've got with my vega.

When I took my shiney new toy to work some of my colleagues decided to load some "interesting" photos on the device when i wasn't looking.

I deleted the files from the vega media folder on the card but they seem to be stuck in the gallery and I can't seem to get rid of them. I've tried holding my finger on the folder so the option to delete comes up. Hit the delete button and they seem to go and it says the gallery is empty, however, if I close the gallery and reopen it the pictures of the young lady come back.

They've even survived me changing from the standard ROM to one of the custom ones from this site.

Has anybody got any idea how I can get rid before my wife sees? :(

The Gallery stores a cached copy on the sdcard so reflashing won't do anything. There's a way to force a rescan (can't remember details, the answers are in this forum somewhere) or, go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Gallery and clear data and cache.
