Regarding the scare over DroidDream this week I checked the list of "infected" apps & found one I had downloaded on it, (Super Bluetooth Transfer), so I installed LookOut & ran it, it found & un-installed S.B.T. no problem, but it also found another infected file that it cant delete, (see screeenshot)

I have tried AVG, Bluepoint & DroidDream Malware Detector & they all say my phone is clean, so is Lookout throwing up a false positive?

I have the profile file in system/bin though which suggests infection.

For now after a reboot I am going into Settings/Applications/Running Services & stopping the downloadsmanager app to be on the safe side, disabling this hasnt had an affect on Android Market.

Anyone else had this crop up in a scan?

You can download droiddreamkiller from market to help stop. It is by xda developers and might help you. Not sure if it works because i dont have this virus thing but it might :(

also you can try using titanium backup to uninstall it maybe?

In the mean time, I'd install a task killer and make sure that program can't run.

I have "frozen" the file in Titanium Backup.

I have also got Lookout on live scanning for any possible extra malware being downloaded by DreamDroid.

After reading other articles on the net a full wipe of phone is recommended, if Googles removal tool works I may not need a full wipe, we shall see.

thanks for the info
