Guest ms20 Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) found at: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to...ion-on-droid-x/ nice boot animation for the blade, click the link for more info and installation instructions -DONT flash in clockwork, it has to be put in SYSTEM/MEDIA (instead of DATA/LOCAL as said in the instructions through the link) and called bootanimation.zip to overwrite the previous boot animation -back up the previous animation just in case Edited March 6, 2011 by ms20
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Works beautifully. Suprising as our screen should be the wrong res, but that bootscreen is actually wrong for the Droid X, and perfect for us. Awesome
Guest weba Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Sweet, I really didn't expect it to loop quite so smooth.
Guest arpakyna Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Root explorer FC's if I try to access /mnt/sdcard, does it support fat32? Any other way to get the .zip to /system/media or just / so I can access it with root explorer?
Guest Decadence Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I can't get the one with sound to work :(. Any ideas?
Guest Fou-lu Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 cool, looks nice, not that much better than the nexus boot though ;D

Any other way to get the .zip to /system/media or just / so I can access it with root explorer? sorry I can't think of a quick fix, next time you flash a rom you could replace the original boot animation in the update.zip. I tried to find an update.zip that someone else had made for a boot animation without success but if you can find one then just replace the file in the zip. edit: just noticed that some of the files available on the web page are for clockwork. Guest ms20 Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) I can't get the one with sound to work :(. Any ideas? the mp3 sound has to be named bootsound.mp3 and be put in system/media/audio/ui/ That should work (this is untested btw) It may have to start with a capital letter: Bootsound.mp3, I'm not too sure though Edited March 9, 2011 by ms20

Guest ms20 Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) I can't find the mp3 in the zip file. I apologise for that mistake, I presumed that all of the files were similar. It looks like the ones with sound are clockwork update.zips I don't think you can use these on a different phone (the files are for the droidx) Sorry :( i Edited March 10, 2011 by ms20

I chose a sound file i liked, renamed as "Bootsound.mp3",placed in system/media/ui. Not sure if this method works for all roms, but,i can confirm for flb-r10b. Tried on cm7 but no joy. The files with sound are for clockwork if I'm not mistaken, but then again, either of those zips would place the bootanimation.zip in the DATA/LOCAL folder instead of SYSTEM/MEDIA, no? One would need to change the script, me thinks. At least the file would be _somewhere_, accessible by root explorer though. :( EDIT: Managed to get bootanimation.zip into right place using android commander (very nice app btw). The boot animation looks really slick. Edited March 11, 2011 by arpakyna
Guest ladiko Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 (edited) I tried the Bootsound.mp3 from droidx placed in system/media/ui and in system/media/audio/ui. Both doesnt work for me. The bootanimation works great, i like it! I'm on CM7 n74 Edited May 19, 2011 by ladiko
