DId anyone encounter this problem:

full wipe your pulse, recovery with CM61-Pulse0.40-f0.3.2.zip or TWeak0.3.2-pulse.zip.

AFter boot you phone and call your pulse using another phone, you will find all call in has been blocked (SMS in might be OK, some times not)and there is no problem with call out and SMS out.

I finally find that missing provision.apk in these two ROM caused this problem, once you copy this apk back to \system\app and modify its permissioins, reboot your phone, every thing is OK and silence mode& airplane mode are back when long pressing the power buttom.

Sorry, no, I have never had any of those problems. I haven't seen those reported by others either, so I don't know why it is happening to you. I have silence mode and airplane mode without Provisioning installed.

But if it is all working for you now, that's good.

Did you use the gapps I uploaded or some other gapps? Maybe it's something else. :(

Wow, that is a long list! I believe that is your problem. You have install far too much into /system and it is too full. If it is too full, a lot of things will start to go wrong. You need to understand that there is a fixed limit on how much you can put into a rom's /system partition.

So since you are making your own rom, you will need to do more reading to understand what the limits are. I can not be of much help because I have no idea what else you have already done, or what base rom you are starting with, etc. There are too many variables. But I can predict you will continue to have problems if you do not limit the size of /system in your installation to what will actually fit into the partition. And you might not notice the problems right away, so make sure you get that right.

Incidentally, I struggle to read Chinese, so I did not understand the private message you sent me. Please try to post here in English if you need further help. Maybe someone else can help you that way too.

Aren't you from Taiwan? :(

Aren't you from Taiwan? ;)

Yes, but I'm terribly dyslexic..... :( :( :)

Ok, really, it's complicated. Yes, I'm "from" Taiwan, but that doesn't mean I'm ethnically Taiwanese or that I can read and write the language.

And that's why it is critical for me to have Chinese language support on my phone. It's an important tool for me to function better in a country where I am functionally illiterate. I speak Mandarin Chinese quite well for being a foreigner. I don't speak Taiwanese at all. But almost every Taiwanese national is completely fluent in Mandarin (as well as Taiwanese) and can read and write traditional Chinese characters. (All education is done in Mandarin.)

But I just don't bother correcting people's assumptions on these matter. It's more fun this way. ;)

Made some metaphysical mistakes. ;) Sorry for using CHT to send private msg.

My phone is PCCW (U8220, small ROM\RAM version).

I have updated to UK2.1 and last time I used CM6.1-Pulse-beta-0.40.zip (modified by myself) and there was no problem.

Few days before I downloaded your pack “CM61-Pulse0.40-f0.3.2.zip”, made some modifications (sorry :D , I have to put some apps into \system to get more space in \data).

CM61-Pulse0.40-f0.3.2.zip, size: 53.6MB, and my cooked Rom: size: 58.1MB (after recovered into my phone, left space in \system: about 7 MB).

I fully wiped my phone, recovered with my cooked ROM, rebooted and SIM card and cellular signal available.

Using another phone to call my U8220, I found that all call in been blocked automatically (no such app in my cooked Rom) and caller information logged in call history. Some SMS could arrive to my U8220 and some wereblocked.

Moreover, on caller side, it indicated that "forwarding…." On screen and voice "…..is busy now, please redial later".

I also fully wiped U8220 and recovered with original “CM61-Pulse0.40-f0.3.2.zip”, it was the same. (I did not install gapps, or a2sd), just a pure system.

Recovery image "CW_2.5.0.4", "CW_2.5.0.7" and boot.img from "ROM cm6 AIO v7.zip" had been flashed (use fastboot.exe) into my U8220, it did not solve the problem.

Later I recovered with CM6.1-Pulse-beta-0.40.zip, and everything was OK. So I compared with “CM6.1-Pulse-beta-0.40.zip” and “CM61-Pulse0.40-f0.3.2.zip”, noted that CM6.1-Pulse-beta-0.40.zip had one file ( provision.apk) in \system\app while “CM61-Pulse0.40-f0.3.2.zip”did not. Searching on internet, it seems “provision.apk” do some initializations on permissions or security configuration when booted for the first time.

So I copied provision.apk back to \system\app, changed its permission (rw-r--r--) and rebooted, call in became normal and so was SMS.

I post this just for discussion, as there has been no problem for me now.

If some one have the same problem, I will be happy if this experience can help. :D

Wow, sounds complicated. But I'm glad you found a solution. Removing Provisioning from the rom hasn't had any negative effect for me that I know of. But it is good to let others know that putting it back in solved your problems.

One more thing I am curious about. If you are willing, launch Secret Settings, click on Phone information, and tell me what you see under "Set preferred network type:" My reason for asking about this is that I used to have terrible trouble with my network connection prior to learning how to set this setting to either "WCDMA preferred" or "GSM only". For some unknown reason, no matter what I do, my phone always reverts to "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)" when I reboot. But when that happens, I no longer have cellular connectivity, even though my phone shows full bars in the notification area. So I'm curious about your phone and how that works for you.
